About the UO Communications Academy
The Communications Academy is a student employment program within University Communications at the University of Oregon.
The program gives students interested in communications, advertising, and marketing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while contributing to the university’s communications work.
As a Student Social Media Strategist & Creator, I contribute to the development and production of digital content for the university’s institutional social media channels, including @UOregon and @CallMeADuck.
In this role, I create photo and video content and ensure all posts adhere to the university’s brand and social media guidelines. I collaborate with the social media team to plan and produce content that supports the university’s communications strategy and engages a large digital audience. In this role, I have created content for accounts with over 1 million followers and provided on-site social media coverage of major university events, including ESPN College GameDay.
